It’s hard to believe that its been a year since the Spartans kicked off for the first time during their inaugural campaign. The lack of experience showed as the Spartans dropped their first two games in heartbreaking fashion. One of which was an overtime thriller against the Bearcats. The Spartans got on track, but it was too late to get a spot in the Championship gameThis year the Spartans plan on getting it right from the opening kick. Through the rest of the Classic last year and the BNEFF season as well, the Spartans showed that they are not an easy W for anyone and that they will fight tooth and nail until the final gun sounds. Look for this team to be in the hunt and regardless of the outcome, when the Spartans are on the field, your going to see a great football game.

Coach Moss leads this 2nd year team into its first Gridiron Elite Classic. Last year the New Jersey Spartans surprised many RAFL teams with their fast and tough play. In the offseason, Moss and his staff were looking to play a highly competitive preseason schedule to set their sights on taking the next steps in the playoffs in 2009. What you can expect from this team is a well run, hard working, and disciplined team that will put it all on the line from kickoff to final gun. Look for a matchup with Kings Bay to be an instant classic that many people will want to go see.
